We provide a rich, stimulating and balanced curriculum which captures children’s interests and inspires a love of learning. Our inclusive teaching strategies enable all pupils to realise their full potential. Learners develop their independence, resilience, empathy and confidence to embrace challenge. Children acquire a deeper awareness of their rights and responsibilities as global citizens now and in the future.
We are proud of our rural nature and are developing our outdoor spaces to enhance our curriculum. We visit farms, local wild areas and beaches to enhance our pupils’ understanding of the rich heritage that we live within.
Our wider curriculum is planned with the children’s interests in mind on a rolling programme of broad topic themes which allows parents and pupils to engage with the learning and to derive key questions that can then be answered. Within each topic, we plan for real life outcomes alongside exciting trips and visits, bring learning to life and making it meaningful. We collaborate with our partner schools within St Barnabas MAT to provide further opportunities for our children. There are regular trips or visits from special visitors to enhance our pupils’ experience of learning and life.
