Computing

Antony School’s computing program fully meets the requirements of the 2014 curriculum in computing. We have a class sets of laptops as well as a class set of chromebooks and some tablets. This means pupils don’t have to share and can work individually on projects.

As well as incorporating word processing apps into pupils work, we also ensure pupils use and understand spreadsheets and publishing software as well as Google Docs and Google Slides.

Pupils use many educationally based apps to support their learning, especially in mathematics and reading including Accelerated Reader where the children complete a ‘Star Reader’ test online to assess their reading ability and Times Tables Rockstars to help with the speed of their times tables knowledge.

We deliver coding in many different ways, including espresso coding, as well as writing code for robotics with older pupils. We also attend the Plymouth University Science and Technology showcase.
